Ask What You Can Do For Your Country

His Excellency The President of The Republic of The Philippines

Malacañang Complex, J.P Laurel Street, San Miguel Manila

October 12, 2020

            Dear Mr. Duterte

“A house divided by itself cannot stand”, Abraham Lincoln said in break of the American Civil War. As we suffer a global dilemma right now, we would like you to hear our voices, feel our sincerity, and dedicate your heart for humanity for us Filipino people. As we are in the brink of one of the most challenging time for the 21st century.

Four years into your presidency, all was going well until this pandemic strike us. We already plead concerns early on as the virus began to spread. Yet you still insists in your personal matter rather than the peoples concern. Now as we suffer because of your response yet you put the blame on us. People are trying to make a living from this pandemic, doing all the things just to be alive, while a police top official had a feast, one was imprisoned trying to get by hunger. You blame the protests and voices of people because you hate criticism. Look at New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Germany. This countries are already recovering, while we still remain on the battlegrounds. The Philippines was doing well under your governance but what now? Where is the old Tatay Digong who always listens to people, who indulges criticism to make lives better. Now as if our lives don’t matter, millions of unemployed Filipinos take on the streets, many are suffering. We trusted our whole lives in you before now as if the stars lost its shimmer. What makes a government stand out is its ability to pertain the peoples needs, hear their voices, and uphold their rights. All should be free from the injustices your government has made.

We are all Filipino people, we have endured a 333 year of tyranny, 6 years of war, an invasion and a dictatorship. All of many hardships of our people have been conquered, right now a pandemic breaks us. A break of our brotherly love. Please Mr. President, stand with the people and be with what they are fighting for. We want you to hear our plea, see our suffering and feel our pain. “Shinzou Sasageyo, Para sa mga Pilipino”

              Sincerely Yours,

                                                                         Samuel Bermudez

President Rodrigo Duterte will call on the United Nations to do some “solemn reflection” about criticisms hurled against it, as he appears before the international body’s General Assembly for the first time.

  1. Very well said. I very much agree that the Tatay Digong before the pandemic was a great leader but unfortunately now they're taking the wrong approach to this pandemic and as a result many are suffering. I like how you explained everything clearly and at the same time showed the mistakes and the successes of His Excellency. Let's just hope and pray that God will guide our President to the correct path. Shinzuo Sasageyo, Para sa mga Pilipino!

  2. I agree that our Tatay Digong was a great president all throughout his presidency. He is doing what other presidents did not do before even there are a lot of judgements throughout his leadership. Your message was so sincere and well structured. It had shown the good and the mistakes or wrong he did in this time of pandemic. We just need to believe to our president and everything falls in to the right place.

  4. You have your own stand. But we all know that the President is also vulnerable and is susceptible to such virus and yet with a brave heart, he faces the country for a fight for this crisis which really brought struggles to humanity. No one is to be blamed for all these happened beyond our control.

  5. Some Filipinos are now depending on government assistance to survive in life, many workers lost their jobs because of pandemic even big companies slowly forced to lay off workers to minimize their finances. We badly needed the support from our government to get back to normal and save the losses. Let’s hope and pray to God to heal the world.

  7. Indeed, he is a great president. Not just me, but many people consider him as the best president of this generation, which is agreeable. However, despite his achievements , it is a fact that he's not really doing well in leading Philippines right now. Let's just hope that he will learn to reflect from his mistakes.

True, the previous years of being a president of the philippines is pretty good because of your great performances, which is why filipinos idolized you, but this time you have lost our trust to you. You should have focus on us more often especially now we are facing this Covid-19. Btw nice work

  11. Hello Samuel, I also have the same opinions about his administration since nowadays, they are completely silent and inactive in serving the nation. I love how you stated the erroneous actions of the government since they really need to improve. Good Job!

  12. I agree that the president makes decisions that are wise and not, which can affect Filipinos. I agree that the government must hear our voices for them to know their mistakes and enhance themselves. Let us all hope and pray that he can realize that he made bad choices and that he is willing to change and improve himself. Have a great day.
