Our Strength, Our Shield, Our Home

There’s a land that is greater than day. A country in the south east, popularly known as the Pearl of the Orient. A great MABUHAY when you take your first step, that’s 7, 641 if you go one by one visiting the islands that makes up this resilient country. The Philippines is nothing without its wondrous and hospitable people, a diverse culture it has to offer. You can just see how many people are adoring this magnificent country. Though there are some times that we are coming in the break of day, don’t mind the beautiful Mayon, or the powder white sand beaches of Boracay. Have you ever thought “ Kumusta kaya ang Pilipinas?”

A country’s resilience is in it’s people. In this time we are fighting our invisible enemy, not just in the Philippines but the whole world. This pandemic tested our resilience and is yet to be victorious. Our economy was once sky rocketing, now it is down falling (not to mention the Php 9 trillion this country owes). A long time issue is Corruption in the government, whom the ones we entrust are stealing our own blood, sweat, and tears for them to live in a extravagant life. Most of which being incompetent in serving the people, there are just some who has their hearts in dedicating their lives for the betterment of our future. Bombs whistling, bullets clashing, lives lost, brother vs brother in a blood bath. Terrorism breaks the bond between us pinoys, lives are always at stake, thousand affected. When visiting this beautiful country you just get to see 5% of it, the rest that you don’t see lays deep which are the slums and the poverty that people are living in.

Problems and challenges opens new doors for discovering solutions to help lives to live at ease. The Philippines has a long history from the 333 year rule of the Spanish, to the American occupation that led to war, World War 2 where millions of lives were lost. This land in which we are stepping in, we call home is so resilient it has done many countless things for us. “Ask not what your country can do for you, But ask what you can do for your country” JKF said. Our motherland was here before us, sheltering and feeding us. It is us Filipino people that breaks its resilience, by starting to improve and develop resilience within our selves through proper education, discipline, cooperation, empathy and sympathy, we could achieve our main goal as Filipinos. We may not have first class health care nor a great military power nor a Trillion dollar GDP, after all were just a third world country. But we have what other countries don’t THE FILIPINO PEOPLE. We may not meet the world standards as a country with high power, but as one hundred and four million Filipinos we are known to be resilient and dedicated with pure hearts in doing good and serving our fellows.

Through darkest day there will be light to cleanse our soul and set wrongs right for us Filipinos to always put up a fight, to be resilient with all our might. When problems and challenges falls we look to the sky, a new dawn comes. Tayo’y Pilipino Iisa sa labanan na ito, Ikaw at Ako Lalaban Tayo.

If I am not mistaken, I think you are quite saying that our country, the Philippines, is like an eagle; in which , both have the same extraordinary characteristics, right? By the way, I like the way you wrote its title; it's so appealing!
