"Rambak Amin Kadatayo"

As time progresses, it is our endeavor to uphold and carry the traditions left by our ancestors. One of which being the celebration of the Kanna
widan Ylocos Festival, a festival that is relevant to all of Ilocandia and to the Ilocano people. Taking place late January to early February. This festival aims to exhibit the culture and traditions of us Ilocanos living in Ilocos Sur. Though things would be a whole lot different because of the underlying covid-19 pandemic.

A very much awaited festival every year by the people of Ilocos Sur. A celebration that’s always full of cheer and pride, embodying the rich culture letting it flow through our blood. With the diverese culture and traditions the province of Ilocos Sur has to offer. Being our products like the infamous ilocos empanada, sinful yet savory longganisa, the abel iloco, just to name a few. It doesn’t just showcases the products but also the way of life of us Ilocanos.

Though the cheers we used to have will not be the same. But the fire that’s burning in our hearts will forever stay lit. The culture and traditions that we have are the very treasures we possess and will pass on to the next generation. Problems like the pandemic doesn’t change our pride in our culture to fade away. As this will pass we will meet again.

  3. Agreed. Kannawidan may not be how it used to be but as long as we can showcase and preserve our pride and culture because it is the festival all about. Great job on this blog.
